Engineering is not failing. Wrong selection is failing.
Every year I hear this:
“Engineering has no scope.”
“Too many engineers.”
“Don’t take engineering.”
But let me say something clearly.
Engineering is not failing.
Wrong selection is failing.
Where students go wrong ?
Many students choose engineering because:
• Friends are joining
• Parents forced
• Just got CET rank
• Didn’t know what else to choose
They don’t ask one important question:
Am I really interested in problem solving, technology, and continuous learning?
Engineering is not a degree for time pass.
It is a skill-based field.
The Real Problem
Not all branches have the same demand.
Not all colleges give the same exposure.
Not all students upgrade their skills.
If someone studies engineering and:
• Doesn’t learn practical skills
• Doesn’t do internships
• Doesn’t improve communication
• Doesn’t update with new technology
Then the problem is not engineering.
The problem is preparation.
Engineering Still Has Strong Scope
Fields growing strongly:
• AI & Machine Learning
• Data Science
• Cybersecurity
• Robotics
• EV Technology
• Renewable Energy
Companies don’t ask:
“Did you just complete engineering?”
They ask:
“What can you do?”
My Honest Opinion
If you love maths, logic, building things, solving problems — engineering is powerful.
If you are choosing it just because everyone else is choosing it — rethink.
Degree is 4 years.
Career is 40 years.
Choose based on strength.
Not trend.
